Keynote speech

(General Manage r - Group ISRP 集团-执行主席 Mr Mark SOUBIRAN General(马克·苏比昂先生)

Psychomotricity, as the name suggests, is a therapeutic approach that promotes mental health through physical activity. It ingeniously combines sports and psychological therapy, allowing participants to release stress, regulate emotions, and boost confidence while engaging in physical activities, thereby achieving the goals of treating mental disorders and enhancing psychological resilience. This form of therapy breaks away from the traditional of single-modality psychological counseling, offering a more dynamic and intuitive method that helps individuals find themselves again and rediscover the enthusiasm and motivation for life through their efforts.

88887422.JPG

Mr. Mark SOUBIRAN noted that in this era of fast-paced life and high pressure, our minds and bodies seem to silently articulate their own weariness and longings. On this journey towards self-awareness and healing, one field that has gradually emerged and shown remarkable brilliance is psychomotricity, which with its unique charm, is quietly altering the trajectory of psychology's development. It is imperative to touch upon the origins and essence of the concept of psychomotricity. It is not merely a therapeutic approach but also a philosophy that deeply understands the human mode of existence. Psychomotricity closely integrates bodily movement, emotional expression, and psychological cognition, asserting an inseparable link between a person's mental state and physical activity.

By guiding individuals through specific physical exercises, psychomotricity aims to stimulate internal emotional flows, thereby promoting mental health and personal growth. This therapeutic method recognizes that the way we move can influence how we feel and think, and conversely, our thoughts and emotions can affect our physical actions. As such, psychomotricity offers a holistic perspective on well-being, emphasizing the interconnectedness of body and mind, and providing a path for individuals to explore and enhance their inner selves within the context of modern life's challenges.

88887421.JPG

Delving deeper into the underpinnings of psychomotricity, we uncover that its profound impact stems from its deep insight into the inherent unity of body and mind in humans. It underscores the notion that true health is not merely the absence of physical ailments but also encompasses the tranquility and freedom of the spirit. In this sense, psychomotricity represents not only a revolution within traditional psychology but also offers a new interpretation of human lifestyle.

Psychomotricity challenges the conventional separation between body and mind, proposing instead an integrated approach to well-being that acknowledges the bidirectional influence between physical activity and psychological state. By fostering a harmonious relationship between the two, it encourages individuals to cultivate both their physical health and mental serenity. This holistic perspective on health suggests that by addressing the entirety of a person's experience—their emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations—we can better understand and support their overall wellness and quality of life.

In advocating for this comprehensive view of health, psychomotricity invites us to reconsider our daily practices and habits, suggesting that our pursuit of well-being should be as much about nurturing the mind as it is about caring for the body. Through this lens, psychomotricity contributes significantly to shaping a healthier, more balanced way of living in today's world.

In recent years, the international psychology community has witnessed a continuous emergence of research hotspots. From in-depth explorations in cognitive science to the broad application of positive psychology, from the latest discoveries in neuroscience to comparative studies in cross-cultural psychology, each trend highlights the diversification and inclusiveness of psychology. Amidst this wave, Chinese psychology has kept pace with international developments, achieving remarkable success not only in fundamental research but also demonstrating robust vitality in practical applications.

Following these observations was a keynote speech delivered by Dr. Huang Lihong titled "Trends in Chinese Psychology from an International Perspective." In his presentation, Dr. Huang likely explored how Chinese psychology integrates global insights while addressing unique domestic challenges, reflecting on the country's evolving psychological landscape and its contributions to the broader field of psychology. The speech probably covered advancements in both theoretical frameworks and applied practices, showcasing China's role in contributing to the rich tapestry of global psychological knowledge.

88887519.JPG

Dr. Huang presented various data indicating that the mental health industry is entering a blue ocean market, with projections suggesting a leapfrog development in the future outlook for the psychological industry. The public demand is growing robustly; as people's aspirations for physical and mental well-being, longevity, education, and psychological fulfillment are insatiable, this represents an inevitable path of consumption upgrade following China's per capita GDP surpassing ten thousand US dollars. Modern individuals' pursuit of happiness knows no bounds.

As a blue ocean sector with untapped potential, while the psychological industry abroad is relatively mature, the domestic psychological industry is flourishing under increased attention from all quarters, fueled by strong demand. The scope of psychological services is extensive, with broad application areas. Currently, only a small fraction of research findings have been converted into practical applications, making the future prospects of this field highly promising.

The rapid growth and vast potential of the mental health sector reflect not only the increasing awareness of the importance of mental health among the general population but also signal a significant shift in consumer priorities towards overall well-being. With continued investment in research and development, alongside policy support and public advocacy, the mental health industry stands poised to play an increasingly critical role in enhancing quality of life and fostering societal progress.

88887528.JPG

Following this, Dr. Huang used data to illustrate that the future psychological industry will face a significant talent gap, particularly in areas such as mental disorders, psychological illnesses, emotional stress management, and personal growth categories, all of which are becoming key demands within the psychological industry. Data on user profiles and demand mining for China's mental health services also indicate that by 2025, the scale of the global healing industry will continue to expand. Even at this nascent stage of the emerging industry, it has already achieved a GDP volume comparable to that of a major country, despite the market not being fully covered yet.

In his compelling speech, Dr. Huang showcased the boundless possibilities for the development of psychology in China. Amidst the interplay of globalization and localization, Chinese psychology is embracing an open attitude and an innovative spirit, continuously writing its own glorious chapter. There is every reason to believe that in the days ahead, Chinese psychology will shine even brighter on the international stage, contributing more power to the exploration and growth of the human mind.

The expansion of the psychological industry not only reflects the increasing recognition of mental health issues but also underscores the growing need for comprehensive support systems to address these concerns. As China positions itself as a leader in this field, it can leverage its unique cultural context and rapidly evolving technological landscape to offer innovative solutions that resonate globally while addressing local needs. The potential for China to influence the international discourse on mental health and contribute meaningfully to the global community's well-being is immense.
