The Institut Supérieur de Rééducation Psychomotrice (ISRP), was founded in 1967 by Ms. Giselle Soubiran and is renowned as the birthplace of psychomotor therapy. ISRP boasts campuses in four French cities: Paris, Marseille, Vichy, and Metz, with a combined student and faculty population nearing 2,500, making it the largest institution dedicated to psychomotor therapy in France and in the world. Over time, the academy has evolved into one of the most prestigious global hubs for training psychomotor therapists, with approximately one-quarter of all such professionals worldwide being graduates of ISRP. In 2021, the college was officially recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education and was included in the list of accredited colleges and universities of Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange(CSCSE). The academy has established close exchanges with universities specializing in medicine, rehabilitation, and nursing, including Wenzhou Medical University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing Special Education Institute, Sun Yat-sen University, the Belt and Road International Cooperation Development Research Institute (Shenzhen), and Shanghai Sanda University. ISRP now offers international programs in rehabilitation, nursing, special education, psychology, and healthcare-related fields to Chinese students. As Chinese society advances and awareness of mental health grows, there is an increasing demand for psychological education. Psychology as a discipline involves applying psychological theories and methods to solve practical problems and real-life issues, offering support and guidance in areas like mental health services, educational counseling, human resource management, health promotion, and market research. The field promises broad career prospects and favorable employment opportunities. According to estimates by domestic authorities, China currently faces a shortage of approximately 1.3 million psychology professionals. In March 2023, the Ministry of Education, along with seventeen other departments, issued the "Special Action Plan for Comprehensive Strengthening and Improvement of Students' Mental Health Work in the New Era (2023-2025)," which highlights the need to strengthen the construction of psychology-related disciplines and cultivate top-tier students in psychology to meet societal needs. On November 19, 2024, Mr. Mark Soubiran, General Manager and Executive Chairman of Group ISRP, along with Mr. Alain Senanedsch, Director of Project Development and Operations at Group ISRP, and Mrs. Lei Shi, personally attended the Sino-French Forum on Psychomotor Rehabilitation and Health Psychology in Shenzhen, China, marking the launch of the ISRP Psychology Doctoral Workstation project. This event symbolizes the deepening partnership between China and France in the realm of psychology and rehabilitation, fostering greater academic exchange and professional development in these fields.
